There are a couple of new ways on the family blog where you can get notifications of new posts:
1) Added to the blog is a place where you can subscribe to getting notfications of new postings on your homepage of other websites (i.e. google, yahoo, etc.). Go to the "subscribe to" section, pick which website you have an account on, and once signed up, you will see new postings on your homepage to that website.
2) Added to the blog is a place where you can sign up to be a follower and if you have a google account, you can see the new blog postings on your google "reader" page or on the "reader's list" page if you have your own blog on google's blogger application.
